QLCC MISSION STATEMENT
The objectives of the Quality of Life and Career Committee are to define those stressors and quality of
life issues which affect attorneys and judges, and to develop
solutions and increase the awareness of those issues within the
legal profession.
The Committee will achieve these objectives by:
 | Reviewing Florida Bar and other available surveys
regarding attorney satisfaction and distress |
 | Contacting other concerned Florida Bar committees to
ascertain the stressors and quality of life issues
particular to their members |
 | Identifying existing local bar sponsored support groups
focusing on these issues and publishing a directory of
these groups for Bar members |
 | Working with other Bar sections and committees to develop
creative solutions and options to address issues of
stress and quality of life |
 | Producing at least one annual CLE seminar in the area if
quality of life/stress management |
 | Educating Bar members in new skills, including:
 | Stress management (relaxation techniques, time
management) |
 | Communication with other attorneys, clients,
judges, etc. |
 | Mediation and negotiation |
 | Dealing with "difficult" people
(clients and other attorneys) |
 | Avoiding burnout |
 | Reducing the risk of malpractice |
 | Returning civility to the profession |
